Esta dissertação aborda o diaconado permanente numa perspetiva histórica, bíblica,
teológica e eclesiológica. A análise assenta numa metodologia sistemática e enquadra-se na
hierarquia do magistério da Igreja. Este trabalho tem como principal objetivo esclarecer a
identidade eclesial e histórica do diaconado. Em segundo lugar, analisam-se as mutações no
ministério diaconal como adequação da Igreja às efemérides históricas e sociais. Por último,
estuda-se a identidade teológica e espiritual do diaconado permanente, configurado em Jesus
Cristo servo. Numa perspetiva mais estrita contrasta-se o diaconado permanente em Braga
com o de outras dioceses - em foco estão fatores que influenciam a qualidade do diácono
permanente numa estrutura sólida e identitária.
This dissertation approaches the permanent diaconate from a biblical, theological and ecclesiological historical perspective. The analysis is based on a systematic methodology and fits into the Church's mastership hierarchy. The main objective of this work is to clarify the ecclesial and historical identity of the diaconate. Secondly, the changes in the diaconal ministry are analyzed as the Church's adaptation to historical and social ephemeris. Finally, the theological and spiritual identity of the permanent diaconate, configured in Jesus Christ the servant, is studied. From a stricter perspective, the permanent diaconate in Braga is contrasted with that of other dioceses - in focus are factors that influence the quality of the permanent deacon in a solid and identitary structure.
