| dc.description.abstract | O objetivo desta dissertação é compreender o significado da fé, segundo Rom 3,21-4,25. A comunidade de Roma tinha cristãos judeus e gentios, com potenciais tensões entre os observantes e os não observantes da Lei. Paulo procura uni-los em Cristo, apresentando em Rom 3,21-4,25 a doutrina da justificação pela fé. Para Paulo, a fé é uma fé fiducial, como um ato de confiança em Deus, e está sempre associada a Jesus Cristo. Em Rom 3,21-4,25, ele associa a fé com a justiça e a justificação. Deus manifesta a Sua justiça salvífica na fidelidade de Jesus Cristo, pela Sua morte redentora na cruz que expia os nossos pecados, e esta justiça pode ser recebida pela fé em Cristo. Todos os seres humanos, judeus e gentios, são justificados pela fé, sem as obras da Lei. Em Rom 4, Paulo apresenta Abraão como o modelo da fé, o qual foi justificado pela fé, antes de ser circuncidado, tornando-se assim o pai de todos os crentes. A promessa de Deus a Abraão e aos seus descendentes baseia-se na fé. Os cristãos são chamados a ter a mesma fé de Abraão, isto é, a acreditar no Deus que ressuscitou Jesus dos mortos. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The aim of this dissertation is to understand the meaning of faith, according to Rom 3:21-4:25. The community of Rome had both jewish and gentile christians, with potential tensions between the Law-observants and the non-observants. Paul seeks to unite them in Christ, presenting in Rom 3:21-4:25 the doctrine of justification by faith. For Paul, faith is a fiducial faith, as an act of trusting in God, and it is always associated with Jesus Christ. In Rom 3:21-4:25, he associates faith with righteousness and justification. God manifests His saving righteousness in the faithfulness of Jesus Christ, by His redeeming death on the cross that atones for our sins, and this righteousness can be received by faith in Christ. All human beings, jews and gentiles, are justified by faith, apart from the works of the Law. In Rom 4, Paul presents Abraham as the model of faith, who was justified by faith, before being circumcised, thus becoming the father of all believers. God's promise to Abraham and his descendants is based on faith. Christians are called to have the same faith as Abraham, that is, to believe in the God who raised Jesus from the dead. | pt_PT |
