Abstract(s)
Nos últimos tempos muito se ouve falar dos Centros Sociais e Paroquiais, do seu papel
na sociedade e dos problemas e desafios que a Igreja tem pela frente nesta área. Assim, este
trabalho tem como objetivo fazer uma abordagem às bases destas instituições. Neste contexto,
aborda as raízes bíblicas da caridade, a ação caritativa numa perspetiva histórica da Igreja
Universal e da Igreja portuguesa. Finalmente, elabora uma análise à presença e ação dos Centros
Sociais e Paroquiais em Portugal e, com base num questionário, intenta perceber o que no
terreno se passa no contexto Arquidiocese de Braga.
In recent times Social and Parochial Centers, their role in society and the problems and challenges Church faces in this area, are in vogue. Thus, the present investigation has as its main goal to approach the foundations of these institutions. In this context, we address the biblical origins of charity, as well as charitable actions from the historical stance of the Universal Church and the Portuguese Church. Finally, we analyse the presence and action of the Social and Parochial Centers in Portugal and, via a questionnaire, the reality of the Archdiocese of Braga.
