- Sequential injection chromatographic system for the expeditious molecular weight screening in hydrolysatesPublication . Teixeira, Raquel; Ribas, Tânia C. F.; Almeida, André; Pintado, Manuela; Rangel, António O. S. S.Introduction and objective: According to European Union regulations, the use of additives in animal feed must be rigorously evaluated to ensure safety, efficacy, and quality. The guidelines highlight the importance of reliable and efficient analytical tools for characterizing bioactive compounds in feed. Currently, protein evaluation is predominantly performed using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). Despite its robustness, presents disadvantages. The main objective is to develop a low-pressure chromatographic flow-based spectrophotometric method for the molecular weight screening of peptides used in animal feed. Method: This work presents a low-pressure chromatographic method based on a sequential injection analysis (SIA) system. A laboratory-made chromatographic column was coupled to the flow system, enabling a rapid molecular weight-based separation and quantification. This method approach provides an expeditious, cost-effective, miniaturized, and automated solution with strong potential for real- time control in industrial production environments. On going work: Optimization of the chromatographic conditions aiming for a higher chromatogram resolution and improved sensitivity through the evaluation of different column sizes, sample volume and flow-rate.
- Sequential injection chromatographic system for the expeditious molecular weight screening in hydrolysatesPublication . Teixeira, Raquel; Ribas, Tânia C. F.; Almeida, André; Pintado, Manuela; Rangel, António O. S. S.According to the regulations of the European Union, the use of additives in animal nutrition must be rigorously assessed to ensure safety, efficacy, and quality. These guidelines emphasize the importance of reliable and efficient analytical tools for characterizing bioactive compounds in feed formulation [1]. Currently, the evaluation of proteins is predominantly performed using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). This is a well-established technique known for its robustness, but on the other hand, it is associated with high operational costs, lengthy analysis times, and complex instrumentation. In response to these limitations, this work presents the development of a sequential injection analysis (SIA) system incorporating a laboratory-made chromatographic column, specifically designed to determine compounds across a range of molecular weights, with particular focus on species below 10 kDa (Figure 1). Integrating the column into the SIA circuit enables selective separation and quantification of low-molecular-weight compounds, significantly enhancing analytical throughput and overall process efficiency. The sequential injection chromatography offers distinct advantages, including improved precision, automation, and reduced reagent consumption [2]. This method approach provides a cost-effective, miniaturized, and automated solution with strong potential for real-time control in industrial production environments. This is particularly relevant in the animal feed manufacturing sector, where accurate monitoring of peptides, amino acids, and other bioactive molecules under 10 kDa is essential to ensure nutritional quality, regulatory compliance, and optimized formulation strategies.
- O contrato de Kixikila e a possibilidade de implementação no sistema bancário angolanoPublication . Santos, Natálio João Gonçalves dos; Pereira, Jorge Manuel de BritoThe Contractual Freedom entitles the parties to enter into either typical or atypical contracts, provided their legitimate interests are duly safeguarded. In this context, the Kixikila emerges, a mixed contract arrangement whose atypical nature has sparked considerable legal and academic debate. It constitutes an informal and multilateral agreement under which participants commit to making periodic contributions in cash or specified fungible assets. Subsequently, the accumulated pool is then rotationally allocated among the group members, under the oversight of an appointed representative, thereby ensuring equitable distribution throughout the contractual cycle. It will be important for the study of this scientific work to address the Kixikila Contract and the possibility of implementing it in the Angolan banking system. System. The objective is to conceptualise Kixikila as a contractual instrument and to assess its potential as a tool for inclusion within the national financial system. From a methodological standpoint, this study uses the deductive method, being classified as basic research with a qualitative orientation. It is grounded in a doctrinal and bibliographic analysis, seeking to establish a legal-scientific framework for understanding an informal mechanism of saving mobilisation and credit provision.
- Para uma ecologia integral : uma exploração da unidade letiva «A pessoa humana» do 6º ano, do programa de educação moral e religiosa católicaPublication . Nunes, Jacinto Manuel Rodrigues; Ambrosio, Juan Francisco Garcia; Teixeira, Alfredo Manuel Matos Alves RodriguesThis report reflects the path developed during the internship at Colégio de Nossa Senhora da Graça, combining teaching practice with a broader reflection on education and contemporary challenges. The first chapter presents an analysis of the teaching practice, including the characterization of the school, the educational community, and the 6th-grade A class, as well as the planning and teaching of the Learning Unit The Human Person. This analysis concludes with a global evaluation, highlighting learning, difficulties, and professional growth. The second chapter focuses on the need for reconciliation between human beings and nature, inspired by the proposal of Integral Ecology in Laudato Si’. Through the dimensions of“Rethinking” and “Reconnecting,” it emphasizes the interconnections between human life, care for the environment, social justice, and spirituality.
The third chapter presents the ecological dimension integrated into the educational process, proposing the extension of the Learning Unit The Human Person with the Cuidar Project. This project aims to promote students’ ecological awareness, solidarity, and responsibility, articulating content and competences. The schedule and evaluation ensure the structure and monitoring of its implementation. Within the project, three key pillars stand out: the creation of a school garden, which brings students closer to nature and sustainability; recycling stations, which educate for environmental responsibility; and the community space, which embodies the link between ecology and social justice through solidarity. Thus, the report combines a practical teaching experience with an innovative and integrative proposal, where integral ecology emerges as a key to forming more conscious, supportive, and committed citizens for the common good.
