- Cultural differences and premium flexibility : the case of The Navigator CompanyPublication . Oliveira, Maria Francisca Pereira; Morais, Ricardo AlexandreIn a progressively digital and competitive world we live in, it is vital for the companies to objectively evaluate what competences (and not resources) bring them competitive and comparative advantage in the XXI century. Culture is a crucial resource at a country level since it shapes a nation’s character and society. This implies that individuals, who are absorbed by this influence, will transfer it for their organizations, transforming culture in a competence that can be a strong basis for achieving competitive advantage in international environments. In an international context, Portugal will struggle to be competitive in a world of top technology, scale economies and cheap labor of industrialized, emergent and developing countries, respectively. The premium flexibility theory attempts to explain the success of exporting Portuguese companies in B2B segments. Consequently, the main objective of this dissertation is to answer the research question: “How national culture effects competitive advantage on Portuguese companies?” For this purpose, a case study about The Navigator Company was performed in order to understand if the main national dimensions of the premium flexibility theory were verified in a real case context. It is also important to comprehend how do they influence the competitive advantage of The Navigator Company in the pulp sector. The outcomes of this study conclude that, premium flexibility does exist on the case of The Navigator Company, although with several limitations and modifications and that it positively contributes to a better and improved customization, agility of the processes and on a greater efficiency of the flow of information and products.
- Meanings assigned by primary care professionals to male prenatal care: a qualitative studyPublication . Sousa, Bruna Sabrina Almeida; Almeida, Camila Aparecida Pinheiro Landim; Santos, Joseane Rodrigues dos; Lago, Eliana Campêlo; Oliveira, Jéssika Felix de; Cruz, Tatiana Areas da; Lima, Shirley Verônica Melo Almeida; Camargo, Emerson Lucas SilvaBackground: Considering recent strategies used in prenatal care, the involvement of fathers has been considered an important factor in ensuring that pregnancy and delivery are successful. Objective: The aim of this study is to identify the meanings assigned by primary health care professionals to male prenatal care. Methods: This is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. A total of 19 interviews were conducted with primary health care professionals registered in the City Health Department of Teresina, Piauí, Brazil. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed according to the Collective Subject Discourse methodology. Results: Three themes emerged from the reports’ analysis: The importance of the role of fathers in the gestational process, attitudes of men toward male prenatal care and formal education and training in primary health care. Health practitioners understand the importance of male prenatal care but reported they lack proper training to provide effective care. Conclusion: The expansion of continuing education strategies focusing on male prenatal care and directed to primary health care professionals is recommended to promote greater adherence on the part of fathers in prenatal care, with the purpose of strengthening bonds and improving the care provided to the entire family. The humanized care can facilitate the approach of the paternal figure during male prenatal care.
- Antisclerostin effect on osseointegration and bone remodeling : a systematic reviewPublication . Couto, Bárbara Alexandra do Amaral; Fernandes, Gustavo Vicentis de Oliveira; Castilho, Rogério Moraes dePurpose: The objective of this systematic review was to verify whether the local or systemic administration of antisclerostin improves the osseointegration of dental or orthopedics implants and stimulates bone remodeling. Materials and Methods: An extensive electronic search was conducted through MEDLINE (PubMed®), PubMed Central® and Web of Science® databases, and specific Journals peer-reviewed to identify case report, case series, randomized controlled trial, clinical trial, and animal studies comparing either the systemic or local administration of antisclerostin with no use, in control group to determine the effect in osseointegration and bone remodeling. Articles in English and with no restriction of period were included. The focused question was determined according to PICO strategy. Results: Twenty articles were included for full review. One out of the twenty was excluded and 19 articles were included in the study, of which 16 were animal studies and 3 were randomized control trials (RCTs). Three of the 16 animal studies reported two different studies, remaining with 19 animal studies and 3 RCTs to analysis. Those studies were divided into two groups, one to evaluate the osseointegration proprieties and the other to verify the bone remodeling potential. Conclusion: The antisclerostin appears to be a promising treatment option to accelerate the osseointegration of dental implants and/or improve the bone neoformation when are present pathologies that could lead to loss of bone structure.

- Repetitions of violence in the works of Vitória Cribb and Welket BunguéPublication . Cardoso, Eduardo PradoThe article describes three audiovisual pieces (@Ilusão, Bustagate and Eu Não Sou Pilatus, produced by Vitória Cribb and Welket Bungué, between 2019 and 2020). It discusses how they address, in their way, the repetition of violence against Black bodies in the digital environment of the web. As such, it invokes a qualitative and aesthetic analysis of the videos’ features and the spaces where they were found. Following Hui (2021), the paper explores the assumption that art can shed light on the irrationality that algorithms enable and reach the sublime, the non-rational. In doing so, the creative minds behind the works cited forge morethan escapist perspectives from reality to offer antiracist angles about the explicit irrationalityof violence — like in Bungué — or to model deformed algorithmic systems — like in Cribb. Thanks to the recursivity turned into artifacts, interpreting phenomena such as beatings and barbaric executions gains complex meanings: repetitions found in social life meet their audiovisual counterparts and create discourses via digital sharing. Besides holding accountable those who allow and disseminate such representations — in and out of the web—, the paper makes a case that the artists appropriate both in form and content certain social manifestations which perpetuate types of violence so that the online environment can also feature more reflection and dialogue.
