- Generalized problematic Internet use and social anxiety and avoidance in Portuguese university studentsPublication . Maia, Berta Rodrigues; Moreira, Helena T. C.; Soares, Maria João; Pereira, Ana Telma; Macedo, António Ferreira deIntroduction: The unhealthy use of Internet has been associated with a number of negative outcomes and psychosocial problems. Aim: To explore the gender differences, relations between variables and the predictive role of generalized problematic Internet use in distress / anxiety and avoidance in social situations. Methods: 176 Portuguese university students, with a mean age of 20.13 years old (SD = 1,65; range: 18-25), filled a sociodemographic questionnaire, the Portuguese version of the Generalized Problematic Interne Use Scale 2 (GPIU) and the Social Interaction and Performance Anxiety and Avoidance Scale. Results: Males presented significant higher scores (Md = 106.13) than females (84.28) in GPIU Negative Consequences (U = 1814.500, z = -2,40, p = .017), and females presented significant higher scores (Md = 95.70; Md = 94.39) than males (58.43; 63.90) in Distress / Anxiety and in Avoidance subscales (U = 1391.500, z = -3.83, p = < .001; U = 1577.500, z = -3.136, p = .002). The Distress / Anxiety subscale was significantly and positively correlated with all GPIU factors. Preference for Online Social Interaction, Deficient Self-Regulation, and gender were significant predictors of Distress / Anxiety in social situations. Conclusions: This study confirms the harmful role of generalized problematic Internet use in social interactions.

Moreover, this apparent intersubjective validity has been taken to constitute one of the main explananda for philosophical accounts of aesthetic judgment. But is it really the case that most people spontaneously treat aesthetic judgments as having intersubjective validity? In this paper, we report the results of a cross-cultural study with over 2,000 respondents spanning 19 countries. Despite significant geographical variations, these results suggest that most people do not treat their own aesthetic judgments as having intersubjective validity. We conclude by discussing the implications of our findings for theories of aesthetic judgment and the purpose of aesthetics in general.

As demais dimensões mereceram a concordância moderada.

Public and private higher education institutions offer mechanisms that allow the relations between universities and industry in the search for scientific and technological development. This project proposes three Actions: (a) develop a knowledge and skills map of the Region and an inventory of the needs of the sector to ensure the innovation process focused on the central axes of expansion and consolidation of the sector; (b) promote innovation projects aimed at generating new products / solutions of economic relevance in the "Traditional Food Products" sector and (c) actively disseminate knowledge, skills and resources to the entities involved, including stakeholders. This work will focus on Action C which has the following tasks: Promotion of the transfer of knowledge to the economic tissue, extended to the whole value chain, through practical and demonstrative actions as well as through concrete projects with companies, of innovation for the availability of the capacities and resources existing in the Research Centers; Promotion of applied knowledge and innovation potential in the area to the national business community, the national and international consumer, and the technical and scientific community through a set of actions that include videos, campaigns on social networks, communications and publications of different nature at the level National and international.
