- Desenvolvimento de cursos de formação profissional : um estudo de casoPublication . Regueira, Sandra Isabel Caetano; Andrade, AntónioThe Portuguese system of professional habilitation and certification, managed by IEFP (Instituto de Emprego e Formação Profissional) provides a broad offer of professional courses, as well as several mechanisms for validation of professional skills. The typical student pro le has been changing over time and there is now a signi cant percentage of under motivated individuals with low basic skills. In order to address this change in the students pro le it is urgent to adopt teaching strategies that can reach them in a more e ective way and help them setting goals that can improve their personal and professional situation. This work describes the adaptation process of a course on spreadsheets, integrated in a professional diploma on Events organisation and management. Unlike the standard approach, we actively used communication and Information technologies in the classroom, namely with the use of the Moodle platform , both as a document repository for use during and o class, and a communication channel outside class. The contents were produced with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel and made available through the Moodle plattform. A substantial part of the contents made available in the platform was previously built in eXeLearning, following the SCORM format. The design process followed the ADDIE methodology, targeted at providing actual working capacity with spreadsheets in a professional environment. The validation and evaluation of the model and of the produced contents was performed through surveys by questionnaire with a control population. A set of formative evaluation events was also used to correct the learning evolution and the contents organisation. The analysis of the questionnaire results shows that the adopted strategy improved student grades as well as their perception of the course organisation.
