Resumo(s)

This thesis presents an equity valuation of lululemon athletica inc., a Vancouver-based premium athletic apparel company operating in 25 countries through company-owned stores and direct-to-consumer channels. The valuation is anchored to three distinct dates: February 1, 2026 (valuation date, the discounting origin for free cash flows), April 17, 2026 (cutoff date, the reference price for the Buy recommendation), and February 1, 2027 (target date, the implied price horizon). The methodology applies a discounted cash flow (DCF) model to free cash flow to the firm (FCFF), complemented by adjusted present value (APV) and relative valuation using margin-normalized forward multiples. The valuation examines whether the market is pricing a temporary margin setback or structural erosion of lululemon's premium positioning. Three developments motivate this question: U.S. tariffs imposed in 2025 generating an estimated $380 million in incremental FY2026 costs, the divergence between a contracting Americas segment and a fast-growing China Mainland operation, and the January 2026 departure of CEO Calvin McDonald. The model assumes gross margin compression from 56.6% in FY2025 to 53.5% in FY2026, with gradual recovery toward 58% by FY2030 as sourcing diversification and pricing offsets take effect. The base-case implied share price is $206.00 at the valuation date, with a twelve-month target of $224 against a reference price of $162.56 (LULU Close, April 17, 2026). The Buy recommendation rests on a 38% twelve-month upside, supported by a Monte Carlo distribution placing 73% of scenarios above the reference price. The target aligns closely with Zacks Equity Research's $225.
