Abstract(s)
Objective: To analyze national scientific trends regarding the prevention of pressure injuries resulting from the use of ventilatory medical devices in individuals admitted to an intensive care unit. Methods: This is a narrative review of the literature, this review allows the updating of knowledge and its trends related to a certain topic, taking up a short period of time. The narrative review enables analysis and discussion by the author, in a critical and personal way, describing the topic in context and theory. The bibliographic search was carried out in the months of November and December 2020 and January 2021, in the Theses and Dissertations Database of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) Portal. Results: 28 productions were selected, of which the research showed that the studies are directed towards research into the prevention of pressure injuries. Final Considerations: The study of trends in Brazilian dissertations and theses made it possible to understand the advances and gaps in scientific research, identifying a trend in scientific production regarding PI prevention. The majority of studies had a quantitative approach and a cross-sectional or cohort design, contributing scientific knowledge and important inferences for epistemological construction, which contributes to the construction of knowledge in health and nursing.
