Instrumento de sedução e de manipulação, o discurso não pode deixar de suscitar o interesse pela Retórica e pela Argumentação; da publicidade ao debate político, a argumentatividade reconhece-se como constitutiva da praxis discursiva. Assim, o presente artigo pretende oferecer uma visão global sobre as leis que regem os procedimentos retóricos e argumentativos, desde a Antiguidade Clássica até aos dias de hoje.
As an instrument of seduction and manipulation, discourse cannot but lead to an interest in Rhetoric and Argumentation. Whether in the domains of publicity or politics, among others, argumentativity is undeniably at the core of discursive praxis. The aim of this article is thus to present an overall view of the laws underlying rhetorical and argumentative procedures, from Classical Antiquity to the contemporary age.
