| dc.description.abstract | A língua portuguesa, enquanto ser vivo, vem mudando de roupagens e tonalidades, numa palavra: evoluindo. É geralmente uma evolução em prol da simplificação. É uma involução para os mais puristas e uma confusão para os mais atentos, mas não especialistas da língua. O conceito de erro é sobretudo importante numa perspectiva normativa da língua e a importância dessa norma é sobretudo social. Sabemos, também, que a competência dos falantes nem sempre é visível na performance linguística. Acontece, porém, que muitas vezes essa performance se vai transformando em (in)competência e um erro linguístico sobejamente repetido vai-se tornando norma, mesmo que a mudança operada seja difícil de explicar a nível da diacronia. Daí se depreende a importância da relação entre língua e sociedade, uma vez que é nesta que a língua se actualiza. Assistimos, assim, por exemplo, à coexistência de várias formas paralelas, que atestam a pertinência da noção de polissincronia, de Coseriu. Alguns exemplos apresentados mostram que, de evoluções em involuções, a língua portuguesa vai-se tornando outra, não deixando de ser a mesma. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | Portuguese, as a living language, is changing and evolving. Usually that evolution is towards simplification. It’s an involution, according to the purists, and a confusing one for the most attentive speakers — but not for the experts in Linguistics. The concept of error is especially important in a language from a normative perspective and the importance of it is primarily social. We know that the speakers’ competence is not always visible in the linguistic performance. However, this performance gradually becomes (in)competence and an often repeated linguistic error becomes a rule, even if the change is difficult to explain in a diachronic level. Language is updated in society, hence the importance of the contact between language and society. The coexistence of several parallel forms exemplifies the relevance of Coseriu’s “polissincronia”. Some of the examples used in here show that from evolutions to involutions, the Portuguese language is changing, keeping, however, its identity. | |
