| dc.description.abstract | This study analyzes the stock market reaction after the 2018/19 Boeing 737 Max crashes, on Boeing, Airbus and several different Airlines. It uses stock market data from Thompsons Reuters Eikon to conduct an event study. The purpose of the event study is to find out whether or not the 737 MAX crashes had an impact on the stock performance of the global aviation industry. Previous literature about event studies on aviation disasters are used to build hypotheses on what can be expected to happen. The analyzed companies are clustered into two distinct groups: the Airlines and the manufacturers. The study finds negative investor reactions on both, the Airlines and the Manufacturers. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Este estudo analisa a reacção da bolsa após os crashes do Boeing 737 Max de 2018/19, na Boeing, Airbus e em várias companhias aéreas diferentes. Utiliza os dados da bolsa de valores da Thompsons Reuters Eikon para realizar um estudo do evento. O objectivo do estudo do evento é descobrir se os crashes do 737 M tiveram ou não um impacto no desempenho das acções da indústria global da aviação. A literatura anterior sobre estudos de eventos sobre desastres aeronáuticos é utilizada para construir hipóteses sobre o que se pode esperar que venha a acontecer. As empresas analisadas estão agrupadas em dois grupos distintos: as Companhias Aéreas e os fabricantes.
