Abstract(s)
Agostinho da Silva draws upon the heterodox Christianism of Joachim de Fiore in order to defend the scope for instauration in the historical existence of the Celestial Kingdom of God. He correspondingly defends how humanity encapsulates a teleological movement that culminates in the consummation of the Age of Spirit in a time of full liberty, peace and love. By rejecting the Greek dualism that splits Heaven and Earth, human and divine, the Portuguese philosopher proposes a monist Gnostic view of reducing eschatology to the level of immanence, under the imagery of the Golden Age and the Fifth Empire.
