Abstract(s)
As escritoras Agustina Bessa-Luís e Maria Ondina Braga apresentam algumas afinidades, no momento do Centenário do seu nascimento: origem geográfica, início da sua vida de escrita, genealogia literária, gosto pela crónica, troca de correspondência, entre outras aproximações. Há um tema que aproxima claramente as duas escritoras, embora com peculiaridades – o fascínio pela viagem, experienciada biograficamente e trabalhada literariamente. Partindo da análise de textos breves destas autoras, inferem-se alguns motivos justificadores da sua atração pela temática da viagem de comboio: a atração pela viagem como forma de diálogo com o desconhecido e com o Outro, como modo de ler o mundo e o ser humano.
At the centenary of their birth, we examine the affinities between the Portuguese writers Agustina Bessa-Luís and Maria Ondina Braga: geographical origin, the beginning of their writing life, literary genealogy, taste for chronicles, exchange of correspondence, and other similarities. There is a theme that clearly brings the two writers together, albeit with peculiarities – the fascination with travel, experienced biographically and worked on literarily. From the analysis of short texts by these authors, we can infer some justifying reasons for their attraction to the theme of train travel: the attraction for travel as a form of dialogue with the unknown and with the Other, as a way of reading the world and humanity.
