Abstract(s)
Objetivo: Sintetizar o conhecimento existente acerca das intervenções promotoras da dignidade do adulto e idoso em cuidados paliativos Abordagem teórica: O aumento da longevidade, o incremento das doenças crónicas, as alterações na rede familiar, têm impacto crescente na organização dos sistemas de saúde e nos recursos destinados aos doentes crónicos. Os Cuidados Paliativos terão uma importância crescente (Plano Nacional de Cuidados Paliativos, 2016). A preservação e/ou promoção da dignidade da pessoa em cuidados paliativos tem vindo a ganhar cada vez maior enfase. Metodologia: Trata-se de uma RIL, efetuada de acordo com os métodos propostos por Sousa, Silva e Carvalho (2010). Resultados: Três artigos foram incluídos, três temas identificados (Preocupações relacionadas com a doença, Repertório de preservação da dignidade e Inventário da Dignidade Social). Conclusão: Clarificou-se o significado de morrer com dignidade e sintetizou-se aspectos da dignidade da pessoa em cuidados paliativos. Mais investigação é necessária sobre o tema.

Review methods: This is an integrative literature review, conducted in accordance with the methods proposed by Sousa, Silva and Carvalho (2010). Results: Three articles were included and three identified issues (Illness Related Concerns, Dignity Conserving Repertory and Social Dignity Inventory). Conclusion: This review clarified the meaning of dying with dignity and synthesized aspects of dignity in end-of-life care. Further research is necessary.
