O presente artigo centra-se na relação entre a investigação e o agir profissional,tendo por base a experiência no âmbito do mestrado em Serviço Social. Visou-se compreender o ponto de vista dos profissionais relativamente à relação entre o agir profissional e a investigação, bem como a sua percepção sobre o lugar da investigação no 1º e 2º ciclo de formação em serviço social. Empiricamente, o estudo adoptou uma abordagem qualitativa de natureza exploratória, tendo por base a aplicação de entrevistas a assistentes sociais com licenciatura e mestrado em Serviço Social. Das conclusões destaca-se o reconhecimento do mestrado como espaço onde existe uma clara aproximação entre investigação e o agir profissional, a grande importância atribuída às unidades curriculares de investigação na formação dos assistentes sociais, ainda que com diferentes perspectivas sobre o que se espera da licenciatura e mestrado.
This article focuses on the relationship between research and professional practice,based on the research experience conducted along the Master degree in Social Work. It aims to understand the point of view of professionals regarding the relationship between the professional practice and research, as well as their perception about the place of research in the 1st and 2nd Year of formation. Empirically, the study adopted a qualitative, exploratory approach by undertaking interviews with social workers with BSc and MSc in Social Work. The results highlighted the role of the Master degree as a functional link between research and professional practice, the significance attached to research methodology in the formation of social workers, albeit with different perspectives about what is expected of the bachelor and master courses.
