O autor aborda alguns edifícios religiosos dos inícios do Cristianismo peninsular localizados na zona norte da antiga província romana da Lusitânia. Começa por discutir alguns termos que muitas vezes são usados, nomeadamente paleocristianimo. Estabelece uma tipologia dos monumentos deste período, com base na sua localização geográfica e discute, com base em recentes descobertas deste período, como uma basílica no sítio do Prazo, em Numão, concelho de Vila Nova de Foz Côa ou no relacionamento da arqueologia com a arquitectura como acontece em Idanha-a-Velha, novas interpretações dos edifícios religiosos e sobretudo as suas cronologias. São passadas em revista as principais basílicas localizadas entre Douro e Tejo, Conimbriga, Idanha-a-Velha, S. Pedro de Balsemão, Prazo e Viseu. Conclui com a proposta de novas cronologias para este edifícios e pela importância cada vez maior do estudo da arqueologia da arquitectura.
The author discusses someof the religious buildings of peninsular Early Christianity located in the north of the ancient Roman province of Lusitania. He begins by discussing some terms that are often used, particularly paleocristianimo. Heestablishes a typology of monuments of this period, based on its geographic location anddiscusses, based on recent discoveries of this period, such as a basilicaat the site of Prazo, in Numão, municipality of Vila Nova de Foz Coa,or the archeological relationship with the architecture as in Idanha-a-Velha, new interpretations of religious buildings and especially their chronologies. The author analyses the major basilicas located between Douro and Tagus, Conimbriga, Idanha-a-Velha, S. Pedro de Balsemão, Prazo and Viseu. Heconcludes with the proposed timelines for this new building and the increasing importance of studying the archeology of architecture
