| dc.description.abstract | This collection of essays traces the paths taken and yet to be taken in an area of knowledge crucial to ascertaining the ways in which cultures, and their languages and literatures, are constructed in contact with the other(s). As a field within Translation Studies, history of translation has often transgressed and reconfigured what we believe to know about cultural history, thereby challenging (mis)readings on the complex and unstable nature of cultural practices.
