| dc.description.abstract | The aging and the end of life are a “problem” for contemporary society. The increase in life expectancy and hence the high number of old people represent major challenges to postmodern culture. Moreover, we live in a time that promotes the cult of beauty and well-being, and the body is, so to speak, the deception of this new conception of being a subject. “On behalf of the earth” is a work permeated by thematization and problematization of the twilight of life, featuring old age, the end of life (death) and faith. | pt_PT |

O aumento da expectativa de vida e, consequentemente, o elevado número de idosos, representam grandes desafios para a cultura pós-moderna. Além disso, vivemos um tempo em que se valoriza o culto à beleza e bem-estar, o corpo é, por assim dizer, o engano dessa nova conceção do sujeito. Em “Em nome da terra”, permeia e tematiza a problematização do crepúsculo da vida. A velhice, o fim da vida (morte) e a fé. | |
