| dc.description.abstract | Com o presente artigo, problematiza-se a restauração do tomismo em Portugal a partir das iniciativas desenvolvidas em Coimbra por D. Manuel Correia de Bastos Pina. Começando a funcionar em 1880, a Academia de S. Tomás de Aquino constitui o elemento de articulação das diferentes acções desencadeadas. O seu principal factor de visibilidade reside nas “Instituições Christãs”, publicação periódica iniciada em 1883 e que, até 1893, possui uma assinalável regularidade. A restauração do tomismo é um dos vectores da estratégia de Bastos Pina no governo da diocese. O horizonte é a contraposição à crítica das ciências modernas à religião católica e ao lugar da Igreja na sociedade. O “ralliement” é o outro elemento estruturador da estratégia que Bastos Pina projecta e aplica. A Academia e a revista são compreendidas como os principais instrumentos para proceder à recuperação do tomismo. Percorrendo as suas principais etapas, procura-se explicar como a génese e a estabilização destas iniciativas contribuem para a divulgação da doutrina em Coimbra, enquanto a acção de Tiago Sinibaldi, com o recurso a outros meios, permite alargar o âmbito de intervenção. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | This article analises the restoration of tomism in Portugal following the initiatives developed in Coimbra by D. Manuel Correia de Bastos Pina. Starting to functioning in 1880, theAcademia de S. Tomás deAquino is the articulation element of the different actions taken. Their main factor of visibility is the Instituições Christãs, periodical started in 1833 and published until 1893 with a remarkable regularity. We intend to demonstrate that the tomism restoration is one of the strategic vectors of Bastos Pina in the diocese government. The horizon is the opposition to the criticism of the catholic religion by the modern sciences and to the place of Church in society. The ralliement is the other structuring element of the strategy projected and applied by Bastos Pina. The Academia and the revue are understood as the main instruments for the recover of tomism. Examining their main stages, we try to explain how the genesis and stabilization of these initiatives contribute to the spread of the doctrine in Coimbra, whereas the action of Tiago Sinibaldi, with other methods, allows the enlargement of the sphere of action. | |
