| dc.description.abstract | O santuário São Bento da Porta Aberta está localizado no parque dos Gerês, na região do Minho, em Portugal. Este artigo objetiva refletir sobre a vivência religiosa a partir das materialida- des, ou seja, a relação entre a religião e a imanência das coisas no santuário de São Bento da Porta Aberta. Nossa hipótese é que as vivências religiosas no santuário de São Bento da Porta Aberta são sobretudo concretizadas por meio da relação entre espaço religioso, pessoas e coisas, no enlace de afetos. As materialidades são compreendidas neste estudo como objetos que expressam a afeição daquelas pessoas por aquele Santo na vivência religiosa, ou seja, não são apenas símbolos religiosos. A metodologia utilizada na pesquisa foi exploratória e mista, composta por referencial teórico e etnografia realizada por meio de observação participante. Concluímos que a materialidade da reli- gião no santuário São Bento da Porta Aberta é evidenciada na relação com a imagem de São Bento que atrai o toque afetivo das pessoas, nos muitos ex-votos levados ao Santuário, nas oferendas, nos presentes variados, e, especialmente, nas flores cravos entregues com singeleza e afeto. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | The Sanctuary of São Bento da Porta Aberta is located in Gerês Park in the Minho region of Portugal. This article explores the religious experience through the lens of materiality, specifically examining the relationship between religion and the immanence of objects within the Sanctuary of São Bento da Porta Aberta. We hypothesize that religious experiences at the Sanctuary are primarily shaped by the interplay of space, people, and objects, all connected through shared affections. In this study, materialities are understood as objects that embody the devotion of individuals to the Saint, transcending mere religious symbolism. The research methodology was exploratory and mixed, combining theoretical frameworks with ethnography, including participant observation. We conclude that the materiality of religion at the São Bento da Porta Aberta Sanctuary is mani- fested in the emotional connection to the image of São Bento, the numerous ex-votos brought to the Sanctuary, the offerings, the diverse gifts, and, notably, the carnation flowers presented with simplicity and heartfelt affection. | eng |
