Brazilian telenovelas have been part of the country's daily life for almost six decades as a genre of television fiction with the peculiarity of telling stories divided into episodes or chapters, in which the next one is a continuation of the previous one. Such narratives have the power to captivate a loyal daily audience that follows the unfolding of several interlacing events over the course of months. Framed as a product of the Brazilian cultural industry, telenovela is the flagship of the teledramaturgy sector until today in Brazil. Given this reach of telenovelas, the main purpose of this article is to discuss the main concepts that in the future intend to address the narrative models of telenovela remakes (focusing on Brazilian productions). Taking into account that this article will integrate part of the research of a PhD thesis, we intend with it to raise definitions to frame them in the research field to which they belong. This bibliographic review will be essential to subsequently understand the structural differences present in the narratives of telenovela remakes when compared to their originals in order to verify to what extent the stories of the two versions (of the same telenovela) are distant and intersect.
