| dc.description.abstract | As viagens e as experiências dos portugueses não passaram despercebidas na Europa dos séculos XV e XVI, nomeadamente no Sacro Império Romano- Germânico. As novas narradas sobre as empresas e as iniciativas da Coroa portuguesa em novos mundos suscitaram curiosidade e interesse, dando origem a outras narrativas ficcionais e possivelmente verdadeiras. Na esteira do nauta e emissário, Rafael Hitlodaeus da Utopia de Thomas Morus, os letrados alemães vão forjar histórias e personagens a partir dos factos e informes vivenciados pelos homens das sete partidas. Tendo em particular atenção uma novela de Jörg Wickram, o presente artigo visa aflorar a emergência de mercadores na arte e na literatura modernas e no modo como Portugal era visto e representado em terras além-Pireneus. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The Portuguese voyages and experiences did not go unnoticed in 15th and16th century Europe, namely in the Holy Roman-Germanic Empire. Thenarratives about the initiatives and endeavours of the Portuguese Crown innew worlds aroused curiosity and interest, giving rise to new fictional and‘possibly true’ narratives. In the wake of the fictious traveller and emissaryRafael Hitlodaeus in Thomas Morus’ Utopia, also German scholars willforge new stories and characters. With particular attention to a novel by JörgWickram, the article discusses the early modern appearance of merchants inart and literature in the context of how Portugal was seen and represented inlands beyond the Pyrenees. | pt_PT |
