Este artigo apresenta as entidades da Ordem dos Frades Menores criadas em Portugal durante a época moderna, no Reino e nos espaços ultramarinos: 12 províncias, 6 custódias, 5 seminários de missionários apostólicos, 3 comissariados e 1 missão. Indicam-se também o número de frades e a localização dos conventos dessas entidades em 1739, segundo os dados recolhidos por Fr. Apolinário da Conceição. Ademais transcreve-se um manuscrito de 1680/1682, dado a conhecer pelo Autor em 1997, com o elenco dos frades e conventos das províncias do Reino, discriminados por categorias: clérigos, leigos, pregadores ou leitores e noviciados, casas de estudo ou enfermarias.
This paper introduces the entities of the Order of Friars Minor created in Portugal during the Modern Age, in the Kingdom and overseas: 12 provinces, 6 custo-dies, 5 seminaries of apostolic missionaries, 3 commissariats and 1 mission. It also indicates the number of friars and the location of the friaries of these entities in 1739 according to data collected by Fr. Apolinário da Conceição. Furthermore, the paper transcribes a manuscript of 1680/1682, revealed by the Author in 1997, containing a list of friars and friaries of the provinces of the Kingdom, discriminated by categories: clerics, lay brothers, preachers or lecturers and novitiates, colleges, or infirmaries.
