Resumo(s)

Introduction:The migratory phenomenon is reaching record levels, with children as a vulnerable group, facing challenges during travel and adaptation. This review aims to map the obstacles and strategies in the provision of nursing care to migrant, asylum-seeking, and refugee children. Methods:This is a scoping review according to JBI guidelines; searches were conducted in June – July 2024 and updated in May 2026 in MEDLINE Complete, PubMed, CINAHL Complete, and Web of Science. Inclusion criteria were language (Portuguese, English, or Spanish), population (migrant children), and various settings. Results:Ten studies identified several obstacles to nursing care, including cultural barriers, communication difficulties, nurses’ attitudes, inadequate translation services, and limited knowledge of the health care system. Discussion:Culturally congruent nursing care is essential for improving outcomes for vulnerable children. This review emphasizes the need for inclusive health policies and ongoing training to promote cultural competence among nurses.
