Este artigo apresenta uma visão, que se pretende revista na sua ponderação e organização, acerca das, por vezes tensas, relações entre as ciências naturais e a fé cristã. Este trata-se de um tema sempre em voga e neste texto visa-se mostrar que tal tensão não possui qualquer motivo para existir. De facto, isto mesmo é constatável se se conhecer, com humildade, a história dos desencontros passados e as razões para, hoje, persistir alguma hostilidade nessa relação. Mais: poder-se-á, inclusive, dar um passo, ainda e sempre cheio de humildade, para se tentar admitir que tais mesmas ciências apontam discretamente para Deus.
This article presents a view, which is intended to be revised in its pondering and organization, on the sometimes tense relations between the natural sciences and the Christian faith. This is an issue that is always in vogue and this text aims to show that such tension has no reason to exist. In fact, this can be seen if one knows, with humility, the history of past mismatches and the reasons why, today, some hostility persists in that relationship. What is more, one can even take a step, still and always full of humility, to try to admit that these very sciences point discreetly to God.
