Resumo(s)
This article aims to reflect on utopia, dystopia and ecotopia in a theological perspective. The notion of utopia could be understood as a search for a better life, while dystopia either means the distortion of utopia or its negation. Ecotopia, on the other hand, could be understood as a vision of an ecologically sustainable society and future. This article stresses the importance of not despising utopia, once that hope and yearning for a better future are what is most human. Instead, it argues that it is dystopias that must be fought. Finally, it argues that the Moltmannian notion of the “spiritual ecosystem” as well as the eschatological category of hope are the ethical foundations of a truly Christian ecological praxis
