| dc.description.abstract | This paper, that seeks to understand the relationship between mass media and transportation in society, stresses the impact of new electronic devices on people’s lives and, especially, on their holidays and free time. It stems from two ideas as theoretical hypothesis, the first one being that people, while on a nomadic life during their holidays, do not abandon routine tasks such as checking their email. The second one is that, in spite of the fact that the postmodern idea of global village means similarity, each place is different, which makes people travel to know them. I had detected two types in the observation: short connection time, use of computer for useful purposes (e-mail, social networks). | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Este artigo, que pretende compreender a relação entre meios de comunicação de massa e transportes na sociedade, destaca o impacto dos novos equipamentos electrónicos na vida das pessoas, em especial nos seus tempos livres e férias. Parte de duas ideias como hipóteses teóricas. Pela primeira, os indivíduos não abandonam tarefas de rotina como consultar o e-mail. Pela segunda, apesar da ideia pós-moderna de aldeia global, cada lugar é diferente, o que leva os indivíduos à viagem. Na investigação, detectei dois tipos de observação: ligações curtas, uso do computador para fins práticos (e-mail, redes sociais). | pt_PT |
