| dc.description.abstract | Ao analisar o crescimento e alteração dos perfis populacionais, os fluxos migratórios e mudanças climáticas, considerando a sua capacidade para gerar uma pressão acrescida no Planeta, vaticina-se nas próximas décadas, um novo “Lebensraum” (espaço vital) centrado nos Oceanos. A concretizarem-se as previsões, muito provavelmente a maior e mais inexplorada área do Planeta (cerca de 74%), o Oceano, será objeto dum renovado interesse, na medida em que pode ajudar as suprir muitas das futuras necessidades de subsistência da população. Nesse caso, os países com uma forte vertente marítima, como Portugal, irão enfrentar novas oportunidades e ameaças, que urge antecipar. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Whilst analysing population growth and its profile changes, migration flows and climate changes, and considering the pressure they present to the Planet, we anticipate a new “Lebensraum” (vital space) centred on the Oceans. If such projections are confirmed, it’s very likely the biggest and most unexplored part of our Planet (about 74%), the Ocean, will be subject to a renewed interest, once it’s susceptible of providing for a significant part of the future human subsistence requirements. Being the case, countries with a significant maritime strand, like Portugal, will be placed before new opportunities and threats that it’s urgent to anticipate. | pt_PT |
