A neobroker for sustainable investments : an examination of the market potential in Germany

| dc.description.abstract | The market for mobile investment solutions has gained popularity among individuals due to the growth of low-cost Neobrokers. Especially driven by the growing interest of younger genera tions, who have firmly anchored the topic of sustainability in their values, the demand in sus tainable finance solutions has grown in recent years. However, despite many providers, the offer for trading transparently presented sustainable investments is limited. Therefore, this mas ter thesis investigates the market potential of a Neobroker exclusively for sustainable invest ments. With a quantitative evaluation of 136 survey participants regarding their usage intentions, a first customer segmentation is performed. Similar to what has already been proven by other studies and confirmed by the present analysis, age in particular plays a decisive role in the intention to use such a solution. Likewise, those who would like to have their sustainable values reflected in an investment are identified as a target group. The qualitative study of the market holds insights into the threats and differentiation potentials. The former is mainly driven by the regu latory environment, which is accompanied by both monetary and personnel barriers. The latter, meanwhile, is driven by the lack of a framework for the selection and communication of sus tainable investments among the competition. This framework can be regarded as a key concept for the success of introducing such a solution and will therefore be developed further on. Hence, this thesis illustrates the need for innovation in the financial industry to contribute to a more socially responsible and environmentally sustainable world. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | O mercado de soluções de investimento móvel ganhou popularidade entre investidores devido ao crescimento dos Neobrokers de baixo custo. Especialmente impulsionada pelo crescente in teresse das gerações mais jovens, que ancoraram o tema da sustentabilidade nos seus valores, a procura de soluções financeiras sustentáveis tem crescido nos últimos anos. No entanto, apesar de muitos fornecedores, a oferta para o comércio transparente para investimentos sustentáveis é limitados. Por conseguinte, esta tese de mestrado investiga o potencial de mercado de um Neobroker exclusivamente para investimentos sustentáveis. Com uma avaliação quantitativa de 136 inquéritos relativamente às suas intenções de utilização, realizámos uma primeira segmentação de clientes. À semelhança do que já foi provado por outros estudos e confirmado pelo presente, a idade, em particular, desempenha um papel deci sivo na intenção de utilização de tal solução. Do mesmo modo, aqueles que gostariam de ter os seus valores sustentáveis reflectidos num investimento são identificados como um grupo-alvo. O estudo qualitativo do mercado contém informações sobre as ameaças e os potenciais de dife renciação. O primeiro é impulsionado principalmente pelo ambiente regulamentar, que é acom panhado por barreiras tanto monetárias como de pessoal. O segundo, entretanto, é conduzido pela falta de um quadro para a selecção e comunicação de investimentos sustentáveis entre a concorrência. Este quadro pode ser considerado como um conceito chave para o sucesso da introdução de tal solução e será, portanto, desenvolvido mais adiante.
