- HydromonasPublication . Vaz-Moreira, Ivone; Nunes, Olga C.; Manaia, Célia M.Hy.dro.mo'nas. Gr. neut. n. hydor water; L. fem. n. monas a unit, monad; N.L. fem. n. Hydromonas a unit (monad) from water. Proteobacteria / Betaproteobacteria / Burkholderiales / Burkholderiaceae / Hydromonas Rods with electron‐dense intracellular inclusions, non‐spore‐forming, Gram‐negative. Aerobic, mesophilic, with the ability to grow between 15 and 30°C, pH 6–8, and a concentration of NaCl of up to 1% and no special growth requirements. Chemoorganotroph with limited metabolic versatility, being able to assimilate d‐glucose, d‐mannitol, and N‐acetylglucosamine. Catalase‐ and cytochrome c oxidase‐positive. The respiratory quinone is ubiquinone 8, and the major fatty acids are C16:1 ω7c and C14:0 3‐OH. The major polar lipids are phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylglycerol, and diphosphatidylglycerol. Isolated from freshwater. DNA G + C content (mol%): 47 ± 1 (HPLC). Type species: Hydromonas duriensis Vaz‐Moreira et al. 2015VP
- MelaminivoraPublication . Nunes, Olga C.; Manaia, Célia M.; Vaz-Moreira, IvoneMelaminivora [Me.la.mi.ni.vo'ra. N.L. neut. n. melaminum melamine; L. v. voro to eat, to devour; N.L. fem. n. Melaminivora melamine eating]. Proteobacteria / Betaproteobacteria / Burkholderiales / Comamonadaceae / Melaminivora Rods 2.0–3.5‐μm long and 0.5–0.9‐μm wide. Motile by a single unipolar flagellum. Gram‐negative. Nonsporulating. Aerobe. Nitrate is reduced to nitrite. Mesophilic, with the ability to grow between 15 and 50°C, pH 6–9.5, and at NaCl concentrations up to 7%. Chemoorganotroph. Catalase‐ and cytochrome c oxidase‐positive. The respiratory quinone is ubiquinone 8. The major fatty acids are summed feature 3 (C16:1 ω7c/iso‐C15:0 2‐OH), C16:0, and C18:1 ω7c. C10:0 3‐OH is also present. Predominant polar lipids are phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylglycerol, and diphosphatidylglycerol. DNA G + C content (mol%): 69.5–69.6 (HPLC). Type species: Melaminivora alkalimesophila Wang et al. 2014bVP.
- OryzisolibacterPublication . Nunes, Olga C.; Manaia, Célia M.; Vaz-Moreira, IvoneO.ry.zi.so.li.bac'ter. L. fem. n. oryza rice; L. neut. n. solum soil; N.L. masc. n. bacter rod; N.L. masc. n. Oryzisolibacter rod from rice crop bulk soil. Proteobacteria / Betaproteobacteria / Burkholderiales / Comamonadaceae / Oryzisolibacter Rods 1.9 ± 0.35‐μm long and 0.6 ± 0.04‐μm wide. Motile. Gram‐negative. Nonsporulating. Facultative aerobe. Nitrate is reduced to N2. Mesophilic, with the ability to grow between 15 and 37°C, pH 6–9, and at a NaCl concentration up to 4%. Chemoorganotroph, being able to assimilate glycerol, potassium gluconate, adipic acid, malic acid, and (trisodium) citrate. Catalase‐ and cytochrome c oxidase‐positive. The respiratory quinone is ubiquinone 8, and the major fatty acids are C18:1 ω7c, C16:0, and the summed feature 3 (C16:1 ω7c/iso‐C15:0 2‐OH). The major polar lipids are phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylglycerol, and diphosphatidylglycerol. Isolated from rice paddy soil through an enrichment culture in the presence of propanil and 3,4‐dichloroaniline; the type strain of the type species Oryzisolibacter propanilivorax is able to degrade both compounds. DNA G+C content (mol%): 69.4 (HPLC) or 69.2 (genome analysis). Type species: Oryzisolibacter propanilivorax Vaz‐Moreira et al. 2017VP.
