- Definição de projetos de vida : impacto no bem-estar psicológico e no autoconceitoPublication . Silva, Beatriz Esteves de Brito e; Azevedo, Ângela Maria Pereira e SáThis study investigated the impact of having defined life projects on adolescents’ psychological well-being and self-concept, as well as the influence of sociodemographic variables such as sex, age, and type of education. This quantitative, descriptive correlational, and cross-sectional research included a sample of 305 secondary school students aged between 15 and 19 years. Data were collected using a sociodemographic questionnaire, the Psychological Well-Being Manifestation Scale (EMMBEP), and the Piers-Harris Children’s Self-Concept Scale (PHCSCS-2). Statistical analyses included parametric and non-parametric tests, depending on the normality assumptions of the variables. The results indicated moderately high levels of psychological well-being and self concept. Boys and students enrolled in vocational education presented significantly higher levels of psychological well-being. Regarding self-concept, statistically significant differences were observed in favour of girls and vocational education students. Having defined life projects was associated with slightly higher levels of psychological well-being, although the difference was not statistically significant. Likewise, no significant differences were found in self-concept levels between students with and without defined life projects. However, the correlations between psychological well-being and self-concept were statistically significant, revealing a positive relationship between the dimensions assessed. These findings highlight the influence of sex and type of education on adolescents’ psychological well-being and self-concept, demonstrating the role of these contextual variables in their psychological development.
