- O contributo da inteligência artificial para um cuidado especializadoPublication . Rodrigues, André Mafra Neves; Rabiais, Isabel Cristina MascarenhasThe present report is part of the Curricular Unit "Final Internship and Report", included in the curricular plan of the 16th Master's Degree in Nursing, in the specialization area of Medical-Surgical Nursing: Nursing for the Person in Critical Situation, at the Lisbon Nursing School of the Portuguese Catholic University. The aim of this instrument is to describe and analyse, critically and reflexively, the course developed over the last three semesters, as well as to demonstrate the acquisition and consolidation of knowledge and skills that took place over this period of time. This course and this cycle of studies aim, academically, to obtain the Master’s degree and, professionally, the title of Specialist Nurse, thus simultaneously enhancing the academic and professional development of the nurses who complete it. A research project - a scoping review - was carried out to map knowledge on the contribution of artificial intelligence to nursing diagnoses. This research identified the applicability of artificial intelligence to nursing diagnoses within the scope of the nursing process, with clear contributions to the provision of care. At the same time, two internships were carried out in clinical contexts with a high level of training – in an Interventional Cardiology Unit and in a Polyvalent Intensive Care Unit. Worldwide, the contexts in which health care is provided are currently highly complex and demanding, both due to sociodemographic changes in the population and to technological development. Artificial intelligence and its applicability in healthcare have undergone a revolutionary evolution in recent years. Nurses must recognize and integrate the results of technological evolution when they represent greater quality and safety for the care provided and gains for the institutions that provide care. The academic and professional development of nurses is a highly demanding process that must inevitably be based on a high-quality scientific and training method.
