- Internal communication in Grupo Veterinário São Francisco de AssisPublication . Guerreiro, Marta Noronha Leal Pratas; Xavier, RuteThe Veterinary Market in Portugal has grown over the last few years and, consequently, the need for investment has increased not only in tangible resources, but also in human resources. Thus, Grupo Veterinário São Francisco de Assis (GVSFA) has shown interest in improving its internal communication and cohesion as a team of experienced professionals in the veterinary sector. This thesis aims to emphasize the importance of internal communication nowadays and to uncover the reality of GSVFA in terms of internal communication in order to meet the Group’s needs in the recommendations. Taking this into account, it was conducted a questionnaire for the GVSFA’s employees, in order to obtain the most organic information possible. The analysis of the questionnaire was supported by literature related to internal communication and employee engagement, and the method of data coding was used in order to guarantee objectivity in the analysis. Based on the reviewed literature and the analysis performed, the areas of GVSFA in which there is more room for improvement were identified. These areas were chosen as main targets for the recommendations. The recommendations suggest the implementation of lean thinking and, more specifically, the application of the kaizen technique in team meetings. In the future, its application can be extended to more areas in GVSFA.
