- The internationalization process of the Science4You firmPublication . Costa, Manuel Camossa Coelho de Figueiredo; Aranda Gutierrez, Ana MilenaFirms’ international expansion has been viewed as a gradual and incremental process for a long time. According to this stage approach, firms’ international knowledge is acquired through the experience gained in the foreign expansion process and, it has for the long time been considered the main driver of the increasing international commitment of companies. However, with the emergence of phenomena such as globalization or technological changes, the internationalization pattern has changed. The purpose of this study is to explore the internationalization process of Science4you firm. With this objective, a qualitative study was conducted. In particular, the topic was investigated by using a single case study based on three semi-structured interviews and secondary data. The main conclusion of this study is that both theoretical perspectives – born global phenomenon and Uppsala model - could be seen as complementary in explaining the internationalization process of Science4You, showing that the traditional model is still valid to explain internationalization of new ventures that expand abroad early on.
