- Redução da ansiedade na criança durante a indução anestésica : uma prática especializada de enfermagemPublication . Baptista, Ana Catarina Matos; Rabiais, Isabel Cristina MascarenhasThe present report aims to describe and reflect on my journey within the scope of the Master's Degree in Medical-Surgical Nursing with a Specialization in Persons in Critical Situation. This document intends to mirror clinical practice in conjunction with the theoretical knowledge developed throughout the internships, conveying the acquisition of skills for professional practice as a Specialist Nurse. The internship report is organized into several chapters. Initially,, it includes the conceptual framework and the phenomenon under study, related to Merle Mishel's Theory of Uncertainty in Illness. Subsequently, there is a description of the academic path, starting with the presentation of different internship contexts within the Final Internship and Report course, in the setting of a Multipurpose Intensive Care Unit and in two Multipurpose Emergency Service Units in the adult and pediatric fields. I also provide a brief description of how my professional experience in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit of the Dona Estefânia Hospital, belonging to the Unidade Litoral de São José where I have been working since 2017, enabled me to gain credits in the course "The Person in Critical Situation and Family – Surveillance and Clinical Decision." The choice of various hospital institutions is related to the felt need to acquire new knowledge from the perspective of caring for critically ill pediatric and adult individuals.. Following this, a reflection is carried out on the common and specific skills of the Specialist Nurse in Medical-Surgical Nursing, relating them to the activities and interventions developed in the internship contexts, particularly in the area of Persons in Critical Situation. It is important to emphasize that during my academic journey, I was able to develop a systematic literature review on a relevant topic that contributed to the practical application of care. The development of the scoping review allowed me to map and apply the most recent scientific evidence in my daily practice, both in the emergency internship context, thereby enriching my knowledge and enhancing the quality of my care. The research work conducted is titled "Nursing Interventions for Anxiety Reduction in Children during the Anesthetic Induction: A Scoping Review." Through the completion of this scoping review, a poster was developed in the context of the Pediatric Multipurpose Emergency Service titled "How can I help my child during the anesthetic induction?" The research results were shared and discussed, contributing to the improvement of nursing care provided to pediatric surgical patients and their families. With the conclusion of this journey, I acknowledge the enhancement of my skills as a Specialist Nurse, continuing with my personal and professional development, and contributing to excellence in nursing practice.
