Abstract(s)

This is the first report on the chemical constituents of Asterella blumeana. Three triterpenoids (22-hydroxyhopane, 22,29-dihydroxyhopane, 6a,22-dihydroxyhopane) and one flavonoid (isoscutellarein- 7,8,4'-trimethyl ether) were isolated from the CH2Cl2 extract of the liverwort Asterella blumeana grown in vitro. The structures of isolated compounds were established by spectroscopic methods (UV, EI mass spectroscopy, 1H- and 13C-NMR). 22,29-dihydroxyhopane is a new natural compound.
