In the modern academic ecosystem, the efficient management, dissemination, and preservation of scientific information depend heavily on the seamless integration of various digital infrastructures. This presentation explores the technological ecosystem of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP), highlighting the interconnectedness between internal systems and external academic platforms. Internally, UCP operates centralized services including Ciência-UCP for research management, the Bibliographic Catalog, the Veritati institutional repository, Openbooks, and specialized scientific journal platforms. To enhance global visibility and simplify administrative workflows for researchers, these systems dynamically exchange data through data synchronization, metadata sharing, and interoperability protocols. Key external integrations include national and international infrastructure networks such as ORCID, CiênciaVitae, Scopus, Web of Science, Crossref, OpenAIRE, RCAAP, LA Referencia, and Oasisbr. By establishing these robust connections, the institution ensures that publication metadata, author identifiers, and research outputs are efficiently synchronized, thereby promoting Open Access, reducing duplication of effort, and enhancing the global footprint of UCP’s scientific production.
