«O baptismo das crianças: novas leituras de uma realidade de sempre» é uma breve apresentação da ‘Dissertatio ad Doctoratum’ de João Pedro Brito, defendida em 18/03/2004, na Pontifícia Universidade Gregoriana, em Roma. Este trabalho procura novas formas de expressão para um tema clássico da teologia sacramental: o pedobaptismo. Com a ajuda das ciências humanas e de novas abordagens exegéticas pretende explicitar afirmações da tradição teológica relativa a este tema, revestindo-as de elementos novos e mais dinâmicos,
pretendendo assim devolver-lhes a riqueza original, e ajudar a manifestar novas virtualidades que nelas possam estar contidas.
“Baptism in children: new readings of an eternal reality” is a brief summary of the doctoral dissertation of João Pedro Brito, defended on 18/03/2004 at the Pontifical Gregorian University of Rome. This work seeks new forms of expression on a classic theme of sacramental theology: paedobaptism. With the help of the Humanities and of new exegetic approaches, it attempts to make explicit certain affirmations from theological tradition in relation to this theme, reclothing them with new, more dynamic elements, with a view to returning to them their original riches, and to help to manifest new virtualities that may be contained within them.
