Abstract(s)
This paper seeks to present the reading of the Encyclical Letter Nostra Aetatein Spain, regarding the Jewish religion, that supposes a change in the perspective between Catholic christians and Jewish and their perception of each other. We see an increase to the visibility of the religious minorities in Spain, largely due to the phenomenon migratory. This has resulted a major interreligious tolerance by the Spanish society, but also exist confusion about the political questions. To better understand this process we remember the situation of the Judaism and the Jewish communities in the contemporary Spain. The presence of the Jewish communities in Spain has an own characteristic in the last phase of the history of Spain. Nowadays more than 20 communities are registered and there exists the Federation of Jewish Communities of Spain with approximately 40 places of worship. Nowadays the Jewish religion is recognized for the Spanish State as a confession of "arraigo notorio”establishing a specific agreement. The study concludes enumerating and presenting briefly the postconciliar documents published by the Spanish Episcopal Conference.
