Abstract(s)

This Research Note aims to analyze the water-stress problem in a clear and concise way, exposing how critical it is for companies to act on this problem that is affecting their entire value chain and, consequently, their bottom line and license to operate. It also highlights what water-related risks should companies take into consideration in the definition of their business strategies, as they try to achieve a competitive advantage, and proposes a Water Stewardship approach for companies to actively engage in water management strategies through their core operations, using efficiency, re-use, and awareness mechanisms.
