Fonseca, Afonso Pinto; Vlacic, BozidarFor the last decade, literature in the International Business (IB) field has, to some extent, progressively included cognition in the investigation of subdomains in IB. However, there is yet a large research gap in this field, unexplored from a cognitive perspective. The thesis sets to identify and fill this gap in IB literature by systematically reviewing 168 manuscripts published in flagship IB journals. The Systematic Literature Review, combined with the Multiple Correspondence Analysis method, highlighted four major areas linked to Psychological and Culture Perspective, Environmental, Social and Governmental factors in IB, Resource Orchestration and Risk Diversification, along with Networks and International Strategies. Building upon the systematic review outcome, research questions are proposed to enhance fruitful exploration in this domain, advancing knowledge on the topic and incentivising investigation from future scholars.
