O mundo laboral, a par do que sucede na sociedade, espelha o multiculturalismo que advém dos fenómenos migratórios do oriente, razão pela qual, a liberdade religiosa do trabalhador subordinado é hoje um tema dominante e os modos de afirmação uma realidade inegável. A presente dissertação atende, também, ao reforço da tutela da saúde e segurança do local de trabalho, precisamente quando esta garantia do trabalhador possa colidir com a manifestação externa da liberdade religiosa. Neste sentido, fazemos alusão ao dever de adaptação razoável imposto ao empregador, primeiramente em abstrato e depois concretizando-o quanto às necessidades dietéticas do trabalhador/crente e uso de vestes e simbologia religiosa.
Nowadays, current labour market reflects the multiculturalism phenomena originated by oriental migratory movements, reason why, employee’s religious freedom is a dominant subject matter as well as the practice and manifestation of that religion. This thesis focuses on protection of health and safety in the workplace, precisely when this obligation contends with extern expression of religious freedom. Therefore, we analyze how reasonable accommodation is imposed to employers and then dissect how it interacts with employee’s food prescriptions and use of religious symbols.
