As promessas e o sofrimento : uma leitura teológico-pastoral

Abstract

Ao longo da história a Religiosidade Popular nem sempre foi valorizada e reconhecida no seio da Igreja. O ponto de viragem foi dado pela reflexão do Conselho do Episcopado Latino- Americano, pelo Papa Paulo VI, e foi sempre em crescendo até ao Papa Francisco. Nas últimas décadas o fenómeno da Religiosidade Popular tem merecido uma crescente atenção, através de inúmeras conferências, congressos, publicações, etc. No contexto da Religiosidade Popular, as promessas ocupam um lugar importante. Elas são expressão da relação entre o devoto e o divino. A pessoa, diante de situações limite, perante o sofrimento pessoal ou de alguém próximo, experimenta a sua fragilidade. Ao não encontrar soluções para os seus problemas, vai procurar outras respostas na mediação com o transcendente. Diante do fenómeno das promessas torna-se imperioso uma nova evangelização, que responda aos novos desafios que são colocados. A valorização e o acolhimento destas práticas é um caminho a percorrer por todos os agentes de pastoral.

Throughout history, Popular Religiosity has not always been valued and recognized by Church. The turning point was given by the reflection of the Council of the Latin American Episcopate, by Pope Paulo VI, and it has always been growing until Pope Francisco. In recent decades, the phenomenon of Popular Religiosity has deserved an ever increasing attention, through several conferences, congresses, publications etc... In the context of Popular Religiosity, the promises play an important role. These are an expression of the relationship between the devotee and the divine. The person, when dealing with extreme situations, personal suffering or the sufferingt of someone who is close, is experiencing his own fragility. When he does not find solutions to his problems, he will look for other answers in mediating with the transcendent. In what concerns the phenomenon of promises, a new evangelization has become imperative, in order to meet the new challenges that are being posed. The appreciation and acceptance of these practices is the way to be followed by all pastoral agents.
