O Social Cognition and Interaction Training (SCIT), é um programa de intervenção comportamental cognitivo que visa melhorar a cognição social, com o objetivo de promover o funcionamento psicossocial em pessoas que sofrem de esquizofrenia. O presente estudo de caso múltiplo insere-se no projeto de investigação que tem como objetivo avaliar a eficácia da versão portuguesa do SCIT, e centrar-se na análise da sua eficácia em dois participantes, ao nível da teoria da mente, estilo atribucional e funcionamento social. Os resultados apresentados sugerem melhorias em todos os domínios avaliados, quando conjugada uma análise quantitativa com um olhar qualitativo decorrente da observação das sessões. As limitações do estudo são discutidas e apresentadas sugestões para investigações futuras à luz do potencial do SCIT para a recuperação de doentes com esquizofrenia.In schizophrenia, the ability to infer adaptively the thoughts and feelings of others (i.e. social cognition) is strongly associated with the social functioning. The Social Cognition and Interaction Training (SCIT), is a cognitive behavioral intervention program that aims to improve social cognition, with the aim of promoting the psychosocial functioning in people suffering from schizophrenia. This multiple case study is part of the research project that aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the portuguese version of SCIT, and focus on the analysis of its effectiveness in two participants at the level of theory of mind, attributional style and function social. The results suggest improvements in all domains assessed when combined quantitative analysis with qualitative analysis resulting from the observation of the sessions.
