A forma como organiza os seus valores e vive em sociedade tem vindo a moldar sede acordo com aquilo em que acredita, podendo a religiosidade dividir-se em diferentes confissões religiosas. Para alguns homens e mulheres, o despertar da sua consciência exige a necessidade de um Deus. Para aqueles que acreditam em Deus e em Cristo, comungando a mensagem da Igreja Católica, a figura do Papa não lhes passa despercebida como o líder supremo desta religião. Contudo, esta liderança não é percecionada apenas a partir dos católicos, mas de todas as pessoas do mundo, mesmo fora do âmbito da religião.Assim, este estudo pretende ver qual a perceção das pessoas face à liderança do Papa Francisco, pelo que o objetivo passa por compreender de que modo a sua mensagem e comunicação em si fazem dele um líder. Outro objetivo prende-se também por tentar perceber se a sua liderança se encaixa na categoria de liderança transformacional. Para este estudo, é feita uma análise a partir da sua Carta Encíclica mais recente, Fratelli Tutti, lançada em novembro de 2020.A metodologia utilizada nesta investigação consistiu na aplicação de métodos qualitativos.Numa fase exploratória foi realizada uma revisão de literatura para fazer um levantamento sobre o tema, seguida de uma análise documental da Carta Encíclica, que foi também suportada através de webinars visionados. Numa segunda fase, de apuramento de dados primários foram conduzidas catorze entrevistas aos vários membros da sociedade civil, como propósito de aferir qual a perceção dos entrevistados face aos traços de liderança presentes no Papa Francisco. Pela análise das entrevistas é possível perceber que o atual Papa da Igreja Católica tem traços identificadores de liderança transformacional, o que é visto a partir da Fratelli Tutti – enquanto um “documento resumo” do Papado atual, uma Encíclica que congrega as principais ideias e valores do magistério do Papa Francisco.Over time, man felt the need to justify his existence based on the most different beliefs. The way he organizes his values and lives in society has been shaped according to what the human being believes in, and religiosity can be divided into different religious confessions. For some men and women, the awakening of their consciences requires the need for a God. For those who believe in God and in Christ, sharing the message of the Catholic Church, the figure of the Pope does not go unnoticed as the supreme leader of this religion. However, this leadership is not only perceived from Catholics, but from all people in the world, even outside the religion boundaries. Thus, this study aims to see what people's perception of Pope Francis' leadership is, so the objective is to understand how his message and communication itself make him a leader. Another objective is also to try to understand if his leadership fits in the transformational leadership category. For this study, an analysis is made based on its most recent Encyclical Letter, Fratelli Tutti, released in 2020, November. The methodology used in this investigation consisted of the application of qualitative methods. In an exploratory phase, a literature review was carried out to survey the topic, followed by a documentary analysis of the Encyclical Letter, which was also supported through webinars. In a second phase, for the collection of primary data, fourteen interviews were conducted with various members of civil society, with the purpose of assessing the perception of the interviewees regarding the leadership traits present in Pope Francis.
