A pesquisa realizada baseia-se na descrição e estudo do sistema de gestão da Garcia Garcia SA, destacando uma ferramenta de elevada importância, utilizada na grande maioria das organizações, o orçamento. Foi utilizada a metodologia de Estudo de Caso. Este estudo permitiu identificar possíveis mudanças que poderão contribuir positivamente para o SCG da empresa e em concreto, uma mais eficaz e eficiente utilização do orçamento, não desconsiderando as boas práticas que a empresa já implementa. É então, sugerida a implementação do Balanced Scorecard (BSC), uma vez que é uma ferramenta de gestão utilizada pela maioria das empresas que pretendem melhorar o seu desempenho. A Garcia Garcia SA apresenta um crescimento contínuo, sendo que com a implementação do BSC, associada à criação de um mapa estratégico e plano operacional, a empresa poderá direcionar o seu foco para aspetos crucias de sucesso, potenciar resultados e elevar o desempenho da organização no geral.Due to the high competitiveness that currently exists in the markets and the uncertainties associated with the constant scenario of change, companies are generally trying to find new instruments that allow the development and enrichment of their Management Control Systems, in order to achieve their goals. The research made is based on the description and study of the Garcia Garcia SA management system, highlighting a highly important tool used by the vast majority of organizations, the budget. The methodology used is the Case Study. This study allowed the identification of possible modifications that could positively contribute to the company's Management Control System and, in particular, a more effective and efficient use of the budget, without disregarding the good practices that are already implemented by the company. It is suggested the implementation of the Balanced Scorecard (BSC), since it is a management tool used by most companies that want to improve their performance.
