The study focuses on Teaching Unit 1 - 8th grade – Human Love – and its influence on interpersonal relationships, personal development and autonomy, as well as on awareness and knowledge of the body. The theoretical approach is based on theological anthropology and the concept of love as a central element in human development and the construction of healthy relationships, articulating it with Christian values and the objectives of PASEO. The didactic and curricular analysis of the selected Teaching Unit will seek to highlight the relevance of EMRC to the full development of students, promoting ethical, moral, social and spiritual values that favor autonomy, responsibility and empathy. The analysis of the 2014 curricula and the 2018 Essential Learning will demonstrate the evolution of the subject regarding contemporary needs. Within the scope of Supervised Teaching Practice (PES), the application of Teaching Unit 1 and its contribution to the growth of students who are more aware and committed to the common good will be examined. The study will also present some improvement proposals to strengthen the impact of the EMRC on the integral training of students.Este trabalho procurará analisar o contributo da disciplina de Educação Moral e Religiosa Católica (EMRC) para o desenvolvimento das competências pessoais e sociais do Perfil dos Alunos à Saída da Escolaridade Obrigatória (PASEO). O estudo centra-se na Unidade Letiva 1 do 8.º ano – o Amor Humano – e na sua influência no relacionamento interpessoal, no desenvolvimento pessoal e autonomia, bem como na consciência e no domínio do corpo. A abordagem teórica baseia-se na antropologia teológica e no conceito do amor como elemento central na formação humana e na construção de relações saudáveis, articulando-o com os valores cristãos e os objetivos do PASEO. A análise didática e curricular da Unidade Letiva selecionada procurará destacar a relevância da EMRC no desenvolvimento integral dos alunos, promovendo valores éticos, morais, sociais e espirituais que favorecem a autonomia, a responsabilidade e a empatia. A análise dos programas curriculares de 2014 e das Aprendizagens Essenciais de 2018 demonstrará a evolução da disciplina face às necessidades contemporâneas. No âmbito da Prática de Ensino Supervisionada (PES), examinar-se-á a aplicação da Unidade Letiva 1 e o seu contributo para a formação de alunos mais conscientes e comprometidos com o bem comum.
