I Série (2004) p. 237-254http://hdl.handle.net/10400.14/3681The debate around the relationship and affinities between Art and Christian Worship evinces, frequently, a large lack of proper and grounded criteria. Therefore a correct definition of this discussion field requests the establishment of new paradigms. We propose four paradigms: the new God’s conception of Christianity; the consequent overcoming of the dichotomy “sacred-profane”; the Christian conception of liturgy and celebration, which the previous perspectives imply; the II Vatican Council as historical landmark for the liturgical renovation. This article ends with the question about the coexistence of ministerial and aesthetic functions in Church Music.porjournal article
