Compreender a experiência da decisão de amamentar nas grávidas ou nas puérperas permite conhecer os fatores e componentes que influenciam a tomada de decisão, permitindo aos enfermeiros adquirir competências no apoio à decisão de amamentação ou de não amamentação. No âmbito do exercício profissional de Enfermagem, surgem mulheres grávidas ou puérperas com dúvidas sobre a tomada de decisão de amamentar, uma vez que esta decisão além de complexa deve ser única e informada. Os enfermeiros devem informar e apoiar a decisão e esta intervenção deverá ser baseada na evidência disponível. O presente documento insere-se no âmbito do Curso de Mestrado em Enfermagem com Especialização em Enfermagem de Saúde Infantil e Pediátrica, do Instituto de Ciências da Saúde da Universidade Católica Portuguesa, na Unidade Curricular Estágio Final e Relatório. O relatório tem como objetivo evidenciar as aprendizagens realizadas durante o percurso formativo, onde foram desenvolvidas e adquiridas competências para a prestação de cuidados especializados, exigidas ao Enfermeiro Especialista à luz da teoria do cuidar de Kristen Swanson. A metodologia utilizada foi descritiva e crítico reflexiva, suportada por pesquisa bibliográfica, de forma a sintetizar o trabalho e aprendizagem desenvolvida nos diversos contextos de assistência à criança e sua família, nomeadamente Unidade de Cuidados Intensivos e Especiais Neonatais, Centro de Saúde numa Unidade de Saúde Familiar e Serviço de Internamento Pediátrico, que decorreu entre cinco de Setembro a dezasseis de Dezembro de 2022. A organização deste documento tem por base as competências do Enfermeiro Especialista, estas estão agrupadas pelos contextos clínicos, onde será realizada uma breve descrição do contexto de estágio, bem como o processo de desenvolvimento de competências. A elaboração deste relatório reflete todo o percurso realizado para adquirir competências de mestre e de Enfermeiro Especialista em Enfermagem de Saúde Infantil e Pediátrica.The decision to breastfeed is personal, subject to many influences, some resulting from the socialisation of each woman. Understanding the experience of the decision to breastfeed in pregnant or postpartum women allows knowing the factors and components that influence decision-making, allowing nurses to acquire skills in supporting the decision to breastfeed or not to breastfeed. Nurses care for pregnant or puerperal women who have doubts about the decision to breastfeed, since this decision, in addition to being complex, must be unique and informed. Nurses must inform and support the decision, and this intervention must be based on available evidence. This document is part of the Master's Course in Nursing with a Specialization in Child and Pediatric Health Nursing, at the Institute of Health Sciences of the Catholic University of Portugal, in the Curricular Unit Final Internship and Report. The report aims to highlight the learning carried out during the training course, where skills were developed and acquired for the provision of specialised care, required of the Specialist Nurse in the light of Kristen Swanson's theory of care. The methodology used was descriptive and critically reflective, supported by bibliographical research, in order to synthesize the work and learning developed in the different contexts of assistance to children and their families, namely Neonatal Intensive and Special Care Unit, Health Center in a Health Unit Family and Pediatric Inpatient Service, which took place from September five to December sixteen, 2022. The organization of this document is based on the skills of the Specialist Nurse, which are grouped by clinical contexts, where a brief description of the internship context will be carried out, as well as the skills development process.
